Cypress Pond exists as a relatively untouched, natural asset to the city of Montgomery. With its approximately 260 acres of ecological diversity, Cypress Pond serves as home to over 100 tree and plant species, and more than 75 bird and butterfly species.

The Cypress Pond Park project will be approached in two major phases.
Phase One – Connect Cypress Inlet on the Alabama River just north of Riverwalk’s amphitheater to Cypress Pond by way of  a designed public greenway that follows Cypress Creek.
Phase Two - Showcase Cypress Pond as an arboretum/outdoor classroom to be used by all citizens of, and visitors to, Montgomery. The design of this exciting project will tremendously enhance the recreational opportunity within the downtown of Montgomery, while maintaining the historical and ecological integrity of the site.
